Somali cleric urges muslims to kill Pope

Johannesburg (AND) Sheikh Abubukar Hassan Malin, a muslim cleric in the Somali Islamic Courts has urged muslims to kill Pope Benedict XVI after the later made controversial comments about the Islamic faith.
Malin equated the latest controversial comments by the Roman Catholic Church Pope to Salman Rushdie's novel "The Satanic Verses". Rushdie was sentenced to death after the release of his book and has been living in hiding ever since.
Malin said the Pope had to be punished for insulting Prophet Mohammed (the Islamic faiths spiritual leader) and Allah.
"We urge you Muslims wherever you are to hunt down the Pope for his barbaric statements as you have pursued Salman Rushdie, the enemy of Allah who offended our religion," Malin was quoted in the local media as having said during his Friday prayers.
"Whoever offends our Prophet Mohammed should be killed on the spot by the nearest Muslim," added Malin whose Islamic Courts recently took over much of Somalia and introduced Sharia law.
The furore stems from the Popes comments at a lecture on Tuesday in which he denounced links between Islam and violence. The pope further quoted a 14th-century Byzantine emperor who said innovations introduced by the Prophet Mohammed were "evil and inhuman."
There was no immediate comment from Rome, where the Pointiff is based.

Nice. Perhaps that sort of nonsense could be saved for another thread?
The death proves once again it is evil and subhuman.
What is your problem?
Didn't you see my tagline?
I winked. It's a joke!
As this outrage grows, it paints a more serious picture of not just jihadists, but moderate muslims too. Even CAIR has jumped all over this. And this won't be good for dim's chances in mid-term Nov elections, as the US public clearly knows who is weaker on terrorists.
I do believe that we in the West have been VERY SLOW TO ANGER, and very restrained thus far. BUT THIS A TIME FOR RIGHTEOUS ANGER!

I'm entirely too sensitive to such things on FR these days!
Got a link? I have not seen CAIR condemn a muslim fatwah, yet.
If she'd been murdered a month ago, it wouldn't have made the news as much, as it would have been just another daily murder by these animals. But given the timing, you can be sure it was in retaliation to the Pope. As someone else here stated; It takes a pretty big man to shoot a defenseless nun in the back. (/anger)
No harm, no foul. (I should think twice these days about the jokes I put up.) |
It should be obvious now that there is no way that civilized countries can accomodate these people. Will citizens NOW demand that the borders be closed?
I didn't mean that CAIR condemned this outrage. I meant that CAIR expressed their outrage at the Pope. CAIR presumably represents so-called moderate US muslims.
Ah. Well, if the pope is actually assasinated by a muslim, I suspect things will get very interesting. In the Chinese sense.
Pray for peace so Al Quaida will kill you last!
Bridgette Gabriel was the guest on a local radio program I listen to and she was fantastic.
If Mainstream Islam wishes to counter negative views of them, they should take a stand with us to root out and destroy those that have high-jacked and turned their religion into one of hate and violence.
Christians had to take a stand against our bigots and murderers and so must they. If CAIR doesn't like that, they should be reduced to the insignificant nothing they are.
AND I QUOTE:
"The pontiff is a worthless pile of human sh%t who reflects the worst of the Catholic Church"
Now I'm going to type slow so you can understand it:
A) If the Muslims killed the Pope there would be hell to pay.Got it now.
B) The 'invade, kill and convert' was a paraphrase of an Ann Coulter quote - which another poster has also used.
C) The Spanish Inquisition was a reference to B
And I don't recall using PROFANITY, I typed three letters. If they offended you - here's a quarter call someone who cares.
Lastly - here's another quarter, buy a sense of humor.
