Five Duquesne University basketball players were shot on campus and taken to local hospitals early Sunday morning, a university spokeswoman said.
Two of the victims -- ages 23 and 21 -- are in critical condition at Mercy Hospital. One was shot in the head, and the other was shot in the elbow and shoulder, Pittsburgh police said.
The other three students were treated at Pittsburgh hospitals and released, police said.
Duquesne has not identified any of the five injured students yet.

This is the same University that says Pittsburgh should turn down a 100% privately funded arena, because it would be a bad influence to have a slots casino too close to campus. Sure.
...And maybe Clairton officials went overboard when they requested a section change for their teams after there was a shooting at the Duquesne-Clairton boys' basketball game at Clairton two years ago. The schools still play in football, but the Clairton basketball teams now play Geibel, Jefferson-Morgan, California, Mapletown, West Greene and Avella, opponents that hardly are in the same geographic area. This change didn't just end the great Clairton-Duquesne rivalry, it ended the Clairton-Serra rivalry because Serra is in the same section as Duquesne.
Sounds like some of the boosters are getting a little enthusiastic...

OOps. That story was, apparently, about a Duquesne High School in Rochester. This shooting was on Duquesne University in Pittsburg. My bad.

I live it Pittsburgh. there has been a long simmering Gang war going on here for a couple of years. Allow me to be Non PC, but most of the shootings are black on black related. It seems that you cant have anything with more than a couple of blacks without it ending in gunfire. They have Rap music night here at a couple of river front bars, and a lot of times, it ends it gunplay.
I dont know why, but they seem intent on killing each other. They cry for the police to solve the crimes, but then they wear "Stop Snitchin" tshirts.
I never go out unarmed anymore, even in the daylight.
This used to be a great town.

No it wasn't. You folks in Pittsburgh have been fooling yourselves for a couple of centuries. It's always been rough and nasty ~ and sometimes even nastier.
