I admire the way Romney dealt with the health care issue. He subsidized the poor working families, enabling them to BUY health care from private providers.
Better to subsidize coverage than pay when the health issues are catastrophic.
Sacriledge to many freepers, but so be it.
We cannot simply turn our backs on the working poor.

I don't know enough about the Massachusetts health care plan to make an intelligent comment. My putting it in the minus column was because so many people on FR seemed so upset about it.
If Romney figured out something to help the working poor with health care, it could be a winning issue. I will have to take a look at what he did. Your point is well-taken.

I hope it works. We'll see how expensive the subsidy really is, but hats off to Mitt for finding a way where noone else has come close.
