I think you are right. Brit would not want the job. Why should he?

Romney. That was my point.

I think name recognition is valuable, but back in 2001 Romney had great name recognition, due to the Salt Lak Olympics. I think he can bring that memory back.

All I know is that if Guiliani gets the nomination, we will have his witchy ex-wife on all of the cable shows crying that "he done her wrong." How are you going to combat that?

Romney may not have the immediate recognition of Guiliani, but he also doesn't have the baggage.

Time will tell.

McCain has finished himself as a significant contender for the president.

To the talking heads, YES it does deny him the nominations.

Powel is a Jimmy Carter style politician. He has not credibility. McCain has John Kerry "I served in viet nam" syndrome. John "I was a prisoner" McCain.

McCain is a liabiltiy not an asset.

May not need it, he(Britt) just spanked McCain a good one.

Britt just said,

Another week of this and McCain's chances of being President are out the window, (we already know he won't get it but Britt is trying to be dipolomatic.)

Powels letter shows he was NEVER A TEAM PLAYER.

He was a leaker.

This is Powels effort to run as a democrat nominee for VP.

Powel SUPPORTED the open rebellion of the state department.

POWEL KNOW ABOUT ARMITAGE AND LET THE GWBUSH ADMIN TWIST IN THE WIND>

Powel is just another Jimmy Carter.

Yeah I keep saying it's early but truth is it's not so early anymore, we need someone pretty quick.Within the next 12 months my guess is all our questions will be answered and we will have our man(or woman),it still pays to know the enemy. And never forget with us it's an election, with them it's a war.

I need help understanding why Romney wouldn't carry Mass.?
He's done it already, and to my knowledge is well regarded there.

I don't think there is any Republican who can carry Mass. in a national election. I don't get the problem with his faith. I have had friends over the years who were Mormons and they were great people, very family oriented, hard working and trustworthy, and deeply patriotic.

See my post # 737, carrying Mass may be less important than making all of New England competitive.

I bet that the dims will try to "smear" Romney as a Mormon, perhaps with that polygamist guy, and it will get ugly, but it will end up hurting them more than him.

Contrary to their belief system, Americans are not bigots.

HIllary is a spinoff of Bubba and without her FBI files and what she has on Bubba she would fade into oblivion in about 48 hours.

"Yep...Wallace said "a dispute between a lot of patriotic men in the administration and a lot of REAL patriots in McCain and Powell and Graham and the others.."

" THIS was a Timmah Russert or Chrissy Matthews interview, not FIT for Fox News."

That was WebbMurtha's theme on MTP.
Webbmurtha told Potato and Allen a number of times that because he had served -only he had the bona fides and gravitas to discuss all things military.
I think that attitude caused Allen not to challenge Webb's plan to pull out the entire military structure from Iraq and then just send in small teams to operate solo, without support of any kind.
Basically suicide missions for those teams.
Murtha plans to deploy to Okinawa, Webb from " the region. "
Hopefully, Allen will now seize upon WebbMurtha's redeployment debacle plan.
It is also mandatory for the Dems to add the oracle Zinni von Clausewitz to their resume.

Romney very well might carry Mass. He might also lose it. It's not a done deal either way. However, he would certainly put all of New England in play, which is something the dims can't survive given a good and relatively conservative Repulican candidate.

All of the red states would almost certainly go with him and the dims would have to fight tooth and nail to keep the blue states blue. Can you say "wipe out?"

Just caught the round table on Fox News Sunday. When Nina was answering Chris's question about Powell, Brit coughed noticeably in the background. When it was his turn to comment, he gave a very restrained performance, but his contempt for Powell was palpable. Also surprising was Kristol's opinion of McCain's interrogation tantrum...that it was doomed to failure, and I think he's right.

Shelby aid joins McCain

From the department of political irony, news this week that a longtime aide to one of the Senate's most powerful appropriators and aggressive campaign fund-raisers has signed up with Sen. John McCain's Alabama team. Tom Young was chief of staff to Sen. Richard Shelby for 12 years before joining the private sector in Huntsville, and McCain named him Alabama Finance Chairman of Straight Talk America, the senator's leadership PAC and financial backbone of an expected run for the White House in 2008.

McCain is well known for his crusades on campaign finance reform and a tighter rein on earmarking the federal budget for special local projects, not exactly Shelby's cups of tea. McCain

DID WE EVER KNOW HOW COWARDLY AND WHAT WUSSIES OUR CONGRESCRITTERS ARE .. HOW LITTLE INTEGRITY THEY HAVE? Backing away from W, performing keep away and CYA-itis for campaign and re-election purposes, rebuking the right legislation W and our troops need to protect US ... that takes the cake. My blood boils. What are you FOR, congresspeople, except furthering your own careers and lining your own pockets? What empty suits!

If it wasn't for these elections being so close, I'd enforce my "Throw the Bums Out" doctrine .. and clean 'em all out. They're beyond despicable ... and WE PAY FOR THEM to be that way.

Well, Chris just added to my nausea .. announced his "first one-on-one interview" with BillyBubba next week. Eeeeeeuuuww.

I sent Chris Wallace an email today after his show...it bothers me beyond words how Wallace refers to Bush as Mr. rather than as President, yet refers to Carter, Clinton as President rather than Mr. I asked him to please explain why he doesn't address the current President as President Bush. I doubt I'll get an answer, but hey, it was worth the minute I spent on the email.
