This November California voters will be faced with a wide array of ballot measures, mostly looking for ways to raise taxes or borrow money. What does this tell you? It tells you that the appetite for state government SPENDING is voracious. These measures all come at voters during a time when an unprecedented amount of taxpayer funds are already being sent to Sacramento. The current state budget is well over a HUNDRED BILLION dollars, and this represents sharp increases of funds in the state budget over recent years.
It is important for every FlashReport reader to join together in sending an important message to liberal politicians in Sacramento, and to all of the special interest groups that would try to get you to vote to raise your own taxes or vote to put your children in debt -- NO. The cold, hard reality is that California already has the financial resources to more that adequate invest in our state's infrastructure. All of the Governor's visions for a California that builds new facilities, roads, and infrastructure can already take place. The reality is that the liberal Democrats in Sacramento don't want to face the idea that in order to pay-as-you-go for infrastructure, they would actually have to significantly reduce the amount of money they are devoting to their social engineering programs - the modern welfare state.

But then loyal, partisan Jon simply doesn't have the strenght of conviction to spotlight all the villians in California's tragedy. Instead he offers, "The reality is that the liberal Democrats in Sacramento don't want to face the idea that in order to pay-as-you-go for infrastructure, they would actually have to significantly reduce the amount of money they are devoting to their social engineering programs - the modern welfare state.", ignoring Schwarzenegger's leading role in nanny state policies and excessive spending.
If Jon could cut the cord to the CAGOP, when circumstances warrant, his viewpoints might be much more widely accepted. Instead he muddles in loyalty and misses an oputunity to lead.
I always vote NO on bond issues; no matter how noble sounding their descriptions are.
"NO" is my unwavering vote for bonds, and my default for propositions as well.
Schwarzenegger has been a huge disappointment. State spending is up, up, up, up, and Arnold is as addicted to debt as Gray Davis was. Arnold is Davis with charisma and sinews.
I never vote for bonds and never ever vote for school bonds.
Same here even though I know going into the polls that some will pass anyway, especially the ones for the school districts. They have bond committees that effectively sell the election. When will folks say enough is enough?
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." -Manuel II Paleologus
Including this one.
I don't think the voters in California, as a whole, have gotten one iota smarter. They'll pass the bond issues and especially the school bonds. It will take hard times to get these schmucks' attention, and even then they'll likely do the wrong thing.
Vote NO on all Arizona initiatives too.
Nothing but "progressive" crapola.
I vote yes on Connery and Brosnan.
I'd vote for this Bond, however:
I lived in California for many years. I got really tired of the yearly slew of new anti-gun laws and new bond issues and the political correctness and the holier than thou routine. Let's see, what are some of the latest wonderful things? A bond issue to sponser stem cell research, a partial ban on recreational coastal fishing, greenhouse gas laws, an illegal handgun ban in SF, an attempt to legalize gay marriage despite a clear vote by the electorate to the contrary... And YOU'RE offended? I finally left, shaking the dust from my sandals and rejoicing on my way.
But heh, if they don't pass the bond issues I'll apologize, but I won't go back. And if bond issues pass I WILL rub it in.
You don't seem to understand that 'rubbing it in' on FR misses the correct audience. We conservative fighters who are still in CA and read FR are not here to be the whipped readers of your rant.
Save name calling for any Dem CA friends.
You don't have to justify leaving the state, but you should be able to not paint ALL residents as being to lame to know how to vote. Still offended - now that I know you
wont' (can't) make the distinction.
So I guess we shouldn't talk about the situation in California then? This kind of reminds me what another friend that recently moved from California to Montana said. He related that no one in California really wanted to talk about the illegals issue for fear of appearing racist, and that problems not talked about don't get solved.
As far as painting all voters in CA as leftist morons, that's not quite what I said. I said, "I don't think the voters in California, as a whole, have gotten one iota smarter." As a whole, as in a majority that carries the day, as in a majority that is growing, as in a majority that is getting more leftist and moronic day by day. If you hadn't noticed the conservative cause is not winning in California.
As far as rubbing it in on FR, California is a cautionary tale that should be repeated at regular intervals. In other states you see, folks haven't seen the libs in all their evil splendor like we have in California. Many folks still see nothing wrong with voting for the odd Dim, if he seems like a "nice fellow" or it's "time for a change". We who have lived the California dream turned nightmare know not to vote for a rat under ANY circumstance. Others need to be reminded. If you want me to go away and post on Dim boards, no such luck. :^)
