Indian was a founding member of NAM along with Egypt and Yoguslavia. Then, as now, it is ruled by the quasi-communist Congress Party. India won't be really free till the Congress is flushed down the toilet.

I don't really mind India hobnobbing with the NAM, SCO, Russia, China, Iran every once in a while. Its our bargaining chip to make US let go of Pakistan. And if it doesn't work then its also a good idea to keep other options open.
