And what do they get in return? A whole bunch of things that are against their church's views......... abortion, gay rights, etc.

I don't know. It is an embarrassment to me as a Catholic.

Just as there seem to be so many Americans who vote 'D'. That is an embarrassment to me as an American.

Ignorance and a lot of stupidity. I don't think some Catholics even realize what is important and unimportant. There is a widespread mistaken idea that Catholic "social justice" teaching requires the support of socialistic schemes and that this is of primary importance. They are also being sadly misled by many leftists who have taken control of the church bureaucracy.
