Funny in the media glee to pile on the Pope, they didn't seem to think noting who the Musim Brotherhood is and their outgrowth, that being Al Qaeda.

Then again if a crime is committed by a Democrat, they ignore that as well, especially if it's of the liberal/leftist variety.

What a bunch of ignoramuses.

“The world had better prepare itself because these people are fanatics.”

It is pretty hard to prepare when these thugs and cowards sneak around in shirts with bombs underneath, killing innocent men, women, and children. What kind of a cowardly son of Satan does that? What has happened to the men of the Muslim faith, Saladin is turning over in his grave at this cowardice.

The Pope didn't go far enough. He should have condemn the Koran which teaches that anyone that is not Islamic, is an Infidel. That means that they can kill us, cheat us, and they will be rewarded in Heaven. Isn't it sickening that the Muslims outright hate Christians and Jews and post sacrilegious cartoons and statements against us and there is no world reaction But as soon as someone says anything that is truthful about them and it puts them in a bad light, that they riot, demand apologies and threaten to kill, that that is big time news. They should be apologizing to us and then we should stop doing any business with them. And the next time a Tsunami hits a Muslim country, send them some roses with the flower cut off and tell them where to put it. They scolded us for not giving enough money, but how much did their Muslim Brothers give them. And how much did they send us when Katrina hit. They should all return to their native lands and give us a better target before they hit us again, which I believe will be very, very soon!

I have to admit. I was naive when the WTC attacks happened. I thought the terrorists were mistaken into thinking they could scare americans into their way of thinking. Little did I know how the liberals here would play right into their tactics. I give it 5-10 more years, and I bet half the liberals here will convert to islam.

Fortunately they don't have enough brains to get organized enough to wage a major coordinated war. Instead, they'll continue killing civilians/children/etc.

"... Muslims of the world who act in this manner. Ignorance of the speech is no excuse..."

The speech wasn't ignorant! It was an objective statement from a Byzantine emperor pointing out to an ignorant muslim who he was really following. The emperor and the Pope who quoted him were merely calling a spade a spade.
The TRUTH HURTS to those who try to deny it!

Yes! The quote Benedict gave from the Byzantine emperor is an indisputable historical fact. Islam has spread by armed conquest and force.

By the way, it's this "religion of peace" that in 1453 invaded the Byzantine empire by its conquest of Constantinople -- the city that today these peaceful Islamofascists call Istanbul.

Pope Gregory is fulfilling his duty and traditional role as a spokesman for Western Christian civilization. The reaction of the ignorant Islamic fanatics proves his point.

We saw how these barbarians reacted to a few cartoons so we shouldn't be surprised. The pope deserves great credit for his courage and conviction in proclaiming the truth.

They look for the slightest reason to riot. They make me sick. I hate to admit this but I am beginning to hate them. I have prayed about it but am unable to get over it. Every day something new to add to the pile.

We really *DO* need another crusade. I left the Church decades ago but I'd buy my own ticket and weapons just so I could urinate on the Kaaba (before we blow it to smithereens). I like this new pope; how much cash does the Vatican have to raise an army? If we could get Vatican $, Israeli military leadership and a president willing to look the other way we could finish what THEY started.
Ba$tards want a jihad, huh?

Found it.

n the seventh conversation (*4V8,>4H - controversy) edited by Professor Khoury, the emperor touches on the theme of the holy war. The emperor must have known that surah 2, 256 reads: "There is no compulsion in religion". According to the experts, this is one of the suras of the early period, when Mohammed was still powerless and under threat. But naturally the emperor also knew the instructions, developed later and recorded in the Qur'an, concerning holy war. Without descending to details, such as the difference in treatment accorded to those who have the "Book" and the "infidels", he addresses his interlocutor with a startling brusqueness on the central question about the relationship between religion and violence in general, saying: "Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached". The emperor, after having expressed himself so forcefully, goes on to explain in detail the reasons why spreading the faith through violence is something unreasonable. Violence is incompatible with the nature of God and the nature of the soul. "God", he says, "is not pleased by blood - and not acting reasonably (F×< 8`(T) is contrary to God's nature. Faith is born of the soul, not the body. Whoever would lead someone to faith needs the ability to speak well and to reason properly, without violence and threats... To convince a reasonable soul, one does not need a strong arm, or weapons of any kind, or any other means of threatening a person with death...".

Looks to me like terrorist are basically very thin skinned people . It's OK to bash Christians and Jews if you're a muzzie and they love to kill young innocent people but don't be too critical of them because they are very sensitive to the truth . WOW !! Pope to Islam , "eat pig and die" !!!

The Pope doesn't need to personally apologize for quoting someone else with the purpose to bring dialogue between the two religions. However, these kinds of statements by Muslims and their leaders pretty much confirm what the Byzantine emperor said back in the year 1400.

EXCELLENT and absolutely correct! Thanks for the post.

Mainstream Islamic Shari'a law is quite radical. We keep talking about the radicals and nutjobs but all Muslims are bound by Shari'a law as interpreted by kooks.

Here are some examples from a Workshop on Islamic Criminal Law from Atlanta in 2004. Consider that these are contemporary interpretations of Islamic law TODAY, as discussed by a panel of Islamic lawyers IN AMERICA:

Hadd crimes

These crimes are called “Qur'anic offenses,” although the penalties for some have come to be different from those declared in the Qur'an. Repentence or reparation by the convicted person cannot derogate from the severity of the sentence.

Zina

The offense of unlawful intercourse consists in having sexual relations with any person not one's lawful spouse or concubine. Strictly speaking, Islamic law has no general conception of adultery as a violation of the marital contract between two persons. The punishment for zina is either death by stoning or a specified number of lashes. For conviction, Islamic law requires either the testimony of four eyewitnesses, instead of the normal two, or the confession of the accused. Some jurists require that the confession must be repeated four times. The pregnancy of an unmarried woman can be sufficient proof against her.

Qadhf

Anyone who is competent and adult, whether male or female, Muslim or not, slave or free, is liable if he falsely charges another person with unlawful intercourse if the slandered party is free, adult, competent, Muslim, and not previously convicted of unlawful intercourse. False accusation (qadhf) occurs also when one is charged with being illegitimate. Only those who are the objects of the slander or their heirs may bring a charge of qadhf. The hadd punishment for qadhf is eighty lashes for free persons or forty lashes for a slave.

Shurb al-Khamr

The punishment for drinking intoxicants or for drunkenness is eighty lashes for a freeman and forty for a slave. The punishment is not prescribed in the Qur'an but was established later and analogized from the punishment for the qadhf. The Shafi‘i school limits the punishment to forty and twenty lashes, respectively. In many cases, the schools extend the prohibition to other intoxicating substances, such as drugs. Besides proof by a retractable confession, evidence can be given by two male adult Muslims who saw the accused drinking an intoxicant, smelled the odor of alcohol on his breath, or saw the accused in a state of drunkenness.

Sariqa

The hadd punishment for theft is the amputation of a hand. To be guilty of theft, one must be a competent adult and have the mental intention to steal. The act must consist of the removal by stealth from a secure place of a certain kind of item of a minimum value that is owned by another person.

Qat‘ al-tariq

Two kinds of offenses are covered by the prohibition against highway robbery: robbery of travelers who are far from aid and armed entrance into a private home with the intent to rob it. Both Muslims and non-Muslims are protected from robbers by this law. The punishment is amputation of the right hand and left foot for the first offense and amputation of the left hand and right foot for the second offense. If murder took place during an attempted robbery, the punishment is death by the sword. If there was murder accompanied by an actual theft, the penalty is crucifixion.

Baghi

Rebellion against a lawful leader consists in seeking his death or overthrowing the established order. The punishment is beheading.

Ridda

Apostasy or a falling away from Islam is punishable by death. The evidence for apostasy need only be circumstantial. Impious behavior, such as failing to pray or offending Islamic morals, can be taken as evidence of apostasy. In the Hanafi school, the male apostate is given three days to recant before being executed. The female apostate is imprisoned and beaten until she recants. In all schools, the killing of an apostate does not engender liability for retaliation or compensation. He is literally an outlaw.
