English: American Standard Version Latin: Vulgata Clementina
Revelation 13 [Context] [Commentary]
9. If any man hath an ear, let him hear. Si quis habet aurem, audiat.
10. If any man [is] for captivity, into captivity he goeth: if any man shall kill with the sword, with the sword must he be killed. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints. Qui in captivitatem duxerit, in captivitatem vadet : qui in gladio occiderit, oportet eum gladio occidi. Hic est patientia, et fides sanctorum.
Jerome is poetry, pure poetry.
"If they ask you where they should go, tell them, Thus says the Lord, 'Whoever is marked for death, to death; wohoever is marked for the sword, to the sword; whoever is marked for famine, to famine; whoever is marked for captivity, to captivity.'" (NAB)
