But its true...the Pope didn't speak to offend. Afirming that one's intentions were not to offend is NOT "backing down," or anywhere close to a retraction.

The beauty of all this is they fail to see how their actions and statements prove the words to be true. Without violence islam is nothing, it is the glue that holds it together.

The cross will never be destroyed. We had Christian Martyrs long, long, before Islam reared its head.

OK. Thanks.

When you pointed out the "Fantastic 4", a different mental image came to me. It seemed so bizarre I thought for a minute it might be a photoshop-like these people need to be photoshopped. They do fine all by themselves. LOL.

Appreciate it.

There's one good thing about this contretemps - it draws the lines more clearly.

Every time a Western institution is threatened, the divide becomes wider for those who think about it for longer than 2 minutes or do not have another agenda.

President Bush, PM Howard, and PM Blair get it. So does the Pope. How much more will it take for the rest of the West's leadership wakes up?

The Pope says his words, intent were misinterpreted. It seems the misinterpretation is deliberate and that conversation is therefore impossible.

They are upset the Pope quoted someone saying Islam is a violent religion, and so they are going to blow people up in protest at the slander.

Moslem men seem to think about about little more than sex and death. What a depressing life they have.

"We will not rest until your thrones and your crosses have been destroyed on your own territory," said the group, which has claimed many attacks against US and government forces in Iraq.

It appears that Benedict has prepared himself for martyrdom. I would hate to see that happen. He is the right man at the right time, and we need him now.

In that awful event, I just hope the Vatican will not be destroyed by a weapon of mass destruction.

If you are a Christian, please pray for the safety of my pope.

The longer this goes on, the more I think Ann Coulter made sense when she said, "Invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity."

These people have always been fanatics, but until the modern ear of travel and communications, they were not as great a danger to the rest of the world.

This is a best seller in Turkey. A country the Holy Father will be visiting in November.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

and guess who they blame for his assassination????...

the Turkish Secret Service, the infamous Masonic lodge P2, and (of course) Opus Dei into his plot line. Inevitably, Mehmet Ali Agca, the Turk who shot Pope John Paul II in 1981, also makes an appearance

I imagine all Christians stand with our Catholic brothers on this matter. God Bless.

Granted, the current Pope hasn't achieved that level of respect or devotion.

Stick around. The show has just begun.

I would like to think many non-Christians as well, would be behind them on this. It is the truth.

Should His Holiness be harmed, the world just may see how many uncounted divisions the Pope truly commands.

Onward Christian Soliders Ping.
