The left and the union shills just don't understand the basics of economics. They think the government owns everything and just passes out a share of it to the people, sounds like Marxism to me.

And many let their emotional hatred of one specific corporation get in their way, resulting in support for Marxist policies! It will happen every time intellect and logic are subjucated to emotions!

What got me about the article was they made it sound like Evergreen Park is way out in the suburbs .. when in fact it butts right up against the city.

YEARS ago the area wasn't safe... has Evergreen Park gone through some sort of rebirth?

In the early 70's my orthodontist was at 95th and Western. One day I decided to take the bus all the way to Western on 63rd .. then down. (Instead of Cicero to 95th and across like I was supposed to) An elderly black lady got on at Western with me and sat with me... and asked me why a little white girl would be on that bus.. I told her I wanted to take a different route... she admonished me that I should listen to my parents. She rode with me all the way to 95th .. the bus driver offered her a free transfer back and thanked her for staying with me... (Remember this wasn't that long after the '68 riots...) She talked to me about Jesus .. which was something we had in common ... we had prayer.. which was wonderful. It was an enriching experience for me - and the Lord, the lady and the bus driver were watching out for me - but after that I took my regular route.

Part-time Walmart employees are eligible for benefits after being employed for two years. My neighbor has worked for them for years. She transferred from a Wal-mart in NC to one here in TX.

"For meat - I hit Costco or Sam's ... but for basic groceries Wal-mart is consistently lower .. at least here in South Texas"

Sam's is owned by Walmart, and Cosco is owned by a democrat activist.

I can't believe any FReeper would use "Political Affairs - A Marxist Monthly" as their source.

I've seen folks quoting Public Citizen, Media Matters, and other lib think-tanks and advocacy groups, but that was was rather brazen. Responding with invective after it was pointed out was typical, though.

I didn't even think it was allowed. I suppose we need a few of these tokens to kick around......

What's interesting (I think I may have mentioned this somewhere above) is what happens afterward. A few times I've seen people admit "sorry, it's the first thing that I saw during a Google search . . . ," which is perfectly reasonable.

But most times the response is, "what are your motives in attacking the source over the substance?" It's laughable. And I'm talking about repeat offenders.

Well I decided long ago I'll go where I want for the best quality at the best price.... no matter WHERE you shop there's an up and downside...

I hit Costco because it's next to the Wal-mart... If I'm further down the road I go to Sam's... :)

"Well I decided long ago I'll go where I want for the best quality at the best price."

Same here, unless a retailer did something that was just too clearly confrontational.

I respond to basic market forces, meaning that for my basics, like groceries, I shop purely based on price, politics be d*amned, I won't subsidize mediocrity, or incompetence.

Around here Sam's sells choice, WalMart sells select. Other than that WalMart groceries are as good as any others.

I am talking about beef. I should have made that more clear.

Any pre-packeged meat is injected with nitrogen for preservation. That is why it has 'frozen and rewarmed flavor'.
