Should we go after them, it should be with such overwhelming force, that they have nothing left to close the straits with. Unfortunately, closing the straits would be a relatively easy matter, which has always been a major concern in regards to open hostilities in the region. Run a ship out there and scuttle it. Straits blocked.

Use of either conventional or nuclear methods makes possible demolition of such a "cork" in a relatively short time.
