I wish the R's would do a switcheroo in Conn.
The Republicans did a switcheroo replacing Rep. Matt Rinaldo with Assemblyman Bob Franks back in the early nineties. Rinaldo had been a staunch pro-lifer, but was willing to s**** the pro-life voters by depriving them of the chance to vote for another candidate in the primary. Franks is pro-abortion.
Rinaldo also kept his war chest to retire on, which was legal back then. Now they have to establish a foundation and hire themselves.

I think it would be very difficult to do the Switcheroo with a sitting Congressman, is he going to start feeling faint and have to retire?
I think if they try the Switcheroo again, it will backfire, but they could be desparate enough to try.
Why do we suffer so for our state?
I hear Torricelli is available...
The 51-day deadline to switch Bob Menendez off the ballot expires this Sunday, Spetember 17.
Not that this rule matters, of course.
...until *Bubba showed up and applied his Midas touch. *Squirt's record will remain intact - endorsing a candidate and then watching them lose.

In New Jersey they are all thieves competing to steal from a single victim.
This news should enhance Menendez's stature in the eyes of NJ voters.
This has become a familiar practice in the Garden State and has become known derisively as the New Jersey Switcheroo.
Or Dick Codey, the guy who filled in for McGreevey's after McGreevey's resignation.
As Acting Governor, Dick Codey really wanted to be elected governor for good. So he used his wife to go on a publicity offensive with a "boo-hoo, I suffered from post-partum depression" tale of woe.
Codey's name-recogition and popularity went up after this sob-story came out.
I would also not be surprised if Kristen Breitweiser were waiting in the wings for the Dims' switcheroo.
Breitweiser has publicly expressed interest in running for the US Senate from NJ (although this nauseatingly fawning profile of Breitweiser describes her as living in NY now).
Breitweiser the Huffington Post blogger --writer of such brilliant bon mots as Dont flush the Koran, flush Bush --is begged by her HuffPost and DU fans to run for the Senate.
The unfortunate state of affairs is that if SATAN himself ran for Senate in New Jersey as a Democrat, he would be elected. Christie Whitman doesn't count as a Republican in my tally.
What needs to be brought under control first is the outrageous lower-class population growth in Camden, Newark, Plainfield, East Orange, Paterson, Irvington, Hillside, Perth Amboy, and similar cities. Those residents vote as a bloc and the liberal candidate doesn't even need to campaign there. This population explosion is a combination of birthrate and immigration both legal and illegal...
