Just before the last election Gallup had a poll that showed Bush ahead with people who had decided who they were going to vote for. So to help out Kerry they assigned 90% of the still undecided voters to Kerry to get a 49-49 tie. They were found out by Rush and a few other new media types. You don't have to do much digging to find it, I remember it happening like it was yesterday. It completely shattered my faith in Gallup as a pollster.
