Although Mom's doctor really cared about her, there was nothing he could do. Once she got the blood clot in her leg and was confined to bed, we knew it was just a matter of time. At least there, she was peaceful. When she was still ambulatory, it was a trip. The mood swings from violent to sweet as pie were tough on her and us. The broken bones from banging things, refusals to take meds... I had the night shift so my sister could go to work. Had to watch the night wanderings.
You went through it. You know. After we lost Dad in a home after being there for 3 days, we swore Mom would stay with us. She passed in my sister's house with the two of us, her grand and great grand daughters at her side.

It's remarkable how similar the experiences are for the families and caregivers of Alzheimer sufferers. I pray medical technology finds a solution...soon.
