Just as important as the number, the jump suggests that this is more than a one day bump. His number has gone from 41 to 44 to 45 to 47. Pollsters will tell you that kind of climb is very important. If the number over the next few days settles around 45, then we've had a change.
If you combine Bush's new poll numbers with today's article in "The Hill" that the field for Democrat House races is shrinking [although this is in dispute—RL], then this is great news for the Republicans. Bush needs to continue his public relations blitz. He can't go back into the White House bunker…
