It depends on current fighter status and deployment location (ie, if live fighters are deployed on the other side of the country, then it could take 45min to an hour to get to the funeral..)

BUT.. with all this, I haven't seen reference to the fact that NATO runs the military operation in Afghanistan now.. I wonder what kind of red tape that caused....

I heard that at the time this incident took place, it was not NATO forces, but coalition forces involved.
