More than anything else, I'd say this is why people should not speed in the city.
Wouldn't be their "fault" if anything happened but it would weigh on their conscience, could possibly be avoided, and could lead to a greater accident.
There are stupid people in our city who are doing wrong things. And you have to be able to react.
If I'd hit the guy who was crossing the highway, he would've gone through my windshield, and then who knows what would've happened.
Houston is a crazy place to drive, even under the best of circumstances. The freeway systems, the always changing *new pattern* work, people who really don't know how to drive, people on cell phones, crap cars in the left lane, which have no business on ANY road, never mind interstates, people jaywalking across 65 mph interstates, drunk, stoned, people not being able to read english and going the wrong way UP an exit ramp, people who think they're part of the next COPS program, etc.
