I tuned in just as she was signing off last night.
She said something like "I'll be here tomorrow. I hope you will, too."
She really had a pleading tone. I almost felt sorry for her, but suddenly I couldn't stop laughing.

OK, she's figured out her sign-off then. She's going to beg for viewers. Well, I won't be one of them. Total waste of my time that would be.
One more point to make - I guess one of the lessons Madam Couric missed out on during her time in the TV/entertainment business is to take heed of the old advice in show biz - "Be nice to everybody on your way up to the top, because you'll meet 'em again on the way down." Since, by all accounts, she's typically bitchy behind the scenes, I can't see too many of her CBS co-workers being too nice to her during this period of demise.
