Princeton University philosophy professor Peter Singer came under international condemnation when he announced he favors killing disabled babies via infanticide. Though he was blasted from both sides of the political spectrum, the so-called ethicist still holds to the position.
In an interview with The Independent newspaper in England, Singer said he would definitely kill a disabled newborn baby.
He indicated he would do so "if that was in the best interests of the baby and of the family as a whole."
Singer said he found it surprising that abortion advocates would disagree with his views.
"Many people find this shocking, yet they support a woman's right to have an abortion," Singer said.

However, Singer's view is that, instead of legal protection, both disabled babies and the unborn deserve death.
As he wrote in Rethinking Life and Death, "Human babies are not born self-aware or capable of grasping their lives over time. They are not persons. Hence their lives would seem to be no more worthy of protection that the life of a fetus."

Well, I wonder what he thinks of killing a mentally disabled Princeton professor if it is in the best interests of the country.
it tolls for thee, Singer
Come Lord Jesus.
Based on what this joker said and looking at his picture, this guy is the reason I stay in shape and lift weights.
As the Father of a precious child with Down's Syndrome I knew there would be people like this. People who makes me want to kick their ass which I would love to do. Oh if only I could meet him.........:)
I gently point out that Ronald Wilson Reagan was raised in what might well be defined as a "liberal" family, his hero was FDR, and he was a Democrat before his conservative instincts led him to see the truth, which led to his conversion to Republicanism.
Any one of the so-called "liberal" babies could easily become another Ronald Reagan, or Margaret Thatcher.
I rest my case.
i think he's involved in animal rights..
It is the same person. Singer is one of the leaders in the animal rights movement. So eating meat is a no no but slicing baby up in an aboratory is just fine.
Singer is evil. No other explanation will do.
What amazes me is how Singer himself doesn't realize that such a dogma could be applied to him if he himself were disabled or when he grows old and 'useless.'
Kind of like Karl Marx. If things had really happened the way he predicted and a peasant, working-class revolution eliminated the bourgeoisie, Marx's head would have been one of the first on the chopping block because of his upper middle-class background. He would have given the peasants the rope to hang him with.
Singer should just read a Modest Proposal by Swift!
Maybe he should also see the movie Soilent Green!
Conservatives can come out of liberal households.
