I wonder why Australian wine tends to be lower in price here in California than wine produced in California

Classic supply and demand, commensurate on quality.  You can easily spend hundreds of $$ on a world-class Australian bottle of wine if you so desired.

So would you say that the high-quality, highly-demanded wines of California are capable of bringing in enough $$ for the wine producers to employ grape harvesters who are in the country legally?
