This whole thing is a fiasco for the MSM, the dimorats, and for Fitzy-baby.
Only a fiasco if the public hears about it Ain't gonna be no Big Headlines on page ONE of the Philly Inquier like they ran when Cheney/Rove was slandered

Yes, and I believe President Bush needs to call for a Justice Department investigation of the special prosecutor. This was another falsified attempt to overthrow a President
That will happen after Sandy Berger is sent to Leavenworth and an investigation is started into the fake Guard memos

The average voter doesn't pay enough attention, to remember who was on first three years ago, who is on first now, etc. We won, but so what?
Ya think anybody in the administration or any GOP Leader in Congress will call the MSM and demand they run this story with the same emphasis as the accusations

I don't think I have ever been so disgusted. I understand, and sympathize. And all this in the middle of a war. In the olden days the gallows would have been brought out of storage.....if they were ever put in storage, that is. :-)
Anyway, I really hope that the prosecution against Libby will stop. I know he wasn't indicted for "outing" the non-outable Plame, but since Fitzgerald knew who had leaked her name to Novak, what Libby said or didn't say in front of the GJ is really a moot point, isn't it.
Next up, I hope someone looks at the doings of Fitzgerald - and of course Mr Ambassador and his lovely wife. Maybe it will be time for Libby to counter sue. But this is a bad story - imagine if it had succeeded and Kerry would now have been President of the USA. What a nightmare!

But don't forget, Novak let Libby and Rove swing in the wind for three years, and let Libby get indicted after repeated Grand Jury appearances investigating a leak Libby had nothing to do with. All to portect a "source". Ain't journalistic ethics grand?
He should have told Armitage to fess up or he would expose him.
I don't think protecting a source should include abeting a coup attempt

Brit's panel is now discussing this.

Fred says it was a purposeful leak, and this should be trouble for Armitage.
If Novak testified before the grand jury, and Armitage testified also, and their stories conflict, Armitage is in trouble.
Fitz knew, didn't he, says Brit. Is ARMITAGE going to be indicted? Brit asked.
Fred is really indignant about this.
Brit points out again that 3-4 month window before Fitzgerald was appointed. Fred thinks Armitage was scared to death...of being fired.
Brit really knows this stuff. He is not letting Mara minimize this. Says that Rove was taking all of this heat, Armitage knew he wasn't guilty, and WHY did he let this go on? Mara says he was "nervous." BS, says Miss Marple.
Mort says State Department did the minimum, and did not go to the White House, because they didin't want to get embarassed.Panel ends on that note, which is good because it indicates to me that Brit, at least, will NOT give Colin Powell a pass.

Oops...left out the part where Brit points out that the Secretary of State was worried about HIS reputation and put it above that of the White House! Brit was really steamed and I don't think he is going to give Powell a pass on this!

What ACR asks is why oh why are all these dems, (like Moira and Mort) trying to make excuses and cover for Armitage?
To: Miss Marple
Agree. Brit knows the score here and was trying very hard to get "the boys" to spell it out for him (& the audience) since he is supposed to be the "moderator" of those discussions and not one of the commentators...
Brit's is the only news program I can watch without a barf bag handy.

I noticed that. Mara's comment that Armitage was "nervous" was just ridiculous. I mean, the guy has been griping that the people in charge never had to dodge bullets like he did; now he's "nervous?" I don't think so!

Novak is saying he was against sending forces to Iraq but because the MSM has always tried to portray Novak as a "conservative" they tried here to picture him as a presidential lapdog on the question even though they knew Novak was against sending troops to Iraq. That's why Novak uses the word "improbably."
To: Enchante
I think Armitage waited three years to reveal himself because he knew what Novak would say and he wanted to be able to respond with, "Well, after all this time, recollections of our conversation differ."

Good try at linking people up but doesn't hold water as now Wilson/Plame have named Armitage in their bogus lawsuit against the other principals.

"Let's see if the press does its job and eviscerates Armitage."
Don't hold your breath for this to happen. :-(

True but one can only hope,.... er wish.... oh well... dream! When is the next Incredible movie coming out anyway?
To: Bubba_Leroy
When Armitage now says he was mute because of special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgeralds request, that does not explain his silence three months between his claimed first realization that he was the source and Fitzgeralds appointment on Dec. 30. Armitages tardy self-disclosure is tainted because it is deceptive.Armitage is the worst kind of coward.

You are aware of course that the prefixes Fitz, often indicated illegitimacy in early surnames. (?)
Patrick seems to have earned it.
