It was a thing of beauty. The male morning CNN host kept trying to get Tony to respond to the House Majority Leader's statement of yesterday, the one that said Rats were more concerned about protecting Al Qaida than the American people. Tony, rolling his eyes and having none of it, shifted the conversation to the awful things the Rats have been saying and said only moments after the President's 9/11 speech. The CNN guy kept trying to force Tony to "talk about Republicans" and Tony kept explaining to him why that was ridiculous and unfair.
The CNN guy then showed a poll suggesting that 43% of Americans believe Saddam Hussein was linked to 9/11. Tony suggested that this was probably due to the Rats lying about what the President has actually said on this. CNN guy then tried to claim that VP Cheney's statements on MTP last Sunday and Senator Santorum's statements on the Senate floor yesterday actually caused Americans to be confused about the Saddam-9/11 link. Tony hit it out of the park again, saying that both these gentlemen were absolutely correct and that the media and the Rats have been the ones confusing Americans by claiming that "no link to 9/11" means "no link to war on terror."
Tony was terrific!
Tony is the best thing that has happen for the American people to understand MSM politics. Tony is just great and he does it in such a calm articulate manner.
Ok...
To Explain it the simple-minded among us, just use this simple phrase....
"Iraq may or may not have had anything to do with 9/11, but 9/11 has EVERYTHING to do with why we invaded Iraq..."
"I think that his sparing successes in press briefings w/ Gregory, Thomas and the like come directly from his ability to see illogical and fallacious arguments presented as questions."
I think Tony's success with the MSM media types has more to do with his advocacy work with the mentally ill. All liberal Rats are mentally ill too.
"Liberalism is a Mental Disorder"
Nothing like throwing in an irrelevent stupidity insulting our almost totally public school educated military.
If Rudy is America's Mayor, it's time to call Tony Snow
"America's Press Agent"
You are on a roll!
These are great questions.
I imagine if in a parallel universe we went harder on Iran and left Iraq alone, Democrats like Biden would also be saying nonsense like:
"They are waging a phony war runup against Iran, simply because they are seeking WMDs, supposedly, a country who has done nothing against the US, while UN reports prove that Iraq has had WMDs for years! Why is this administration attacking the wrong targets? What about Iraq? Why isn't this country taking out a dictator like Saddam and going after the elected President of Iran?"
Hey, I'm public school educated as well. But I'm educated in spite of what the public schools did, not because of it.
Public school is an indoctrination system for state-supported thinking. And things are going downhill fast. It truly does turn out people who are stuck-on-stupid.
BTW: You do know what stuck-on-stupid means, don't you?
Shalom.
The Democrats dont have to be good at spin.
The Liberal Media does it for them.
Good for Bush for bringing a media-savvy person from the media into the administration. Good move.

"My 4 year old can understand this but these people cannot."
Your 4 year old hasn't been to public school yet.
You can take this as a recommendation not to send him to one of those stuck-on-stupid factories.

LOL!!! I laugh and cry at the same time over your post! How true... and sad.
Public schools are controlled by LOCAL authorities. They are the closest to local control of any of our institutions. One of the reasons America leads the world is because our citizens have had an opportunity to become educated.
There are many people who are doing a wonderful job educating children in spite of the insane demands put upon them by the Left and its welfare classes.
It turns out millions of excellent graduates every year who are in NO way stuck on stupid. Ideological rhetoric does little for understanding or analysis. As I said almost all of our military are public school graduates.
I agree with you. Yet there are many more who are not. You are probably talking about teachers, but I am talking about parents - the people who are charged with educating their children. They don't educate their children and so allow them to become propagandized.
It's a systemic issue. It's not a matter of local control vs. Federal control, good teachers vs. bad teachers, Christians vs. Muslims. The reason the state runs schools is so the state can determine what and how children think. It may start with people who want children to think well and logically and with a clear mind, but the power corrupts.
What percentage of the population is our military?
Shalom.
The Republicans must work twice as hard as Dems. to get the truth out. The Democrats can get away with outrageous
remarks from Harry Reid, Howard Dean or Jack Murtha and the Simon Says liberal press Corp. refuses to hold their feet to the fire. Maybe Tony (The Tiger) Snow can hold the oblivious Dems. responsible for their reckless remarks But, Snow is only one man! Where are other Heroes in the Republican Party?
Learn what? What you think is true? What I think is true? What Osama thinks is true? What Farmer Bob thinks is true?
The state will determine what kids learn, what they need to learn, and why they need to learn it. Their motives may be very honorable when they start, but the result will always be the same. It is too great a power.
You and I agree on the role of the parents.
I asked about the percentage of the military to help you guage what percentage of the school's output is that level. I would posit that current and former military is not more than 10% of the population and probably significantly less. But I'll let you look it up since you brought the military into this.
I would also posit that the average parent of someone in the military is a much better parent than the average parent.
Shalom.
W has to play politics in order to change the world.
If he linked Iraq to 9-11 now, how much patience would the American people have for rebuilding Iraq?
If he linked Iraq to 9-11 in the days right after that event what do you think the current temperature in Baghdad would be about now?
Is freedom a better 'weapon' to use then a nuke? I think so and history will as well.
Oh no, don't do that to the poor man.
When they were first founded the students had an opportunity to learn to read and write, do simple math, introduction to sciences, learn some history, read books, move on to Latin and Greek even Hebrew in some schools.
And with local school boards being elected the subject matters can vary according to the desires of those boards as long as they prepare the students to pass the exit tests.
Today the better schools have a vastly expanded curriculum with advanced science and math, multi-year programs in half dozen or more languages, advanced courses in history, statistics etc.
Apparently you are unfamiliar with the realities of modern schooling preferring to put the ideological blinders on and swallow the anti-public school bilge regularly doled out here.
One of us certainly has blinders on. I have never just swallowed anything without looking into it. Right now you apparently agree with what is being taught in the schools where you live. That's good. Remember what I said when you no longer do.
Shalom.
