It's true: Chafee did not EVEN VOTE FOR BUSH IN THE LAST ELECTION. He wrote in his father, who is deceased. Never thought we'd see the day the GOP backed RINOs in favor of partial birth abortion. They are dead wrong. And if it cost them a seat it should have. This wussy should have changed parties long ago.

Chaffey will lose his senate seat.......... so we will give up a democrat to get a Democrat! Net change = 0

Welcome to Republicanland. Price of admission? Leave your conscience and moral compass with the attendant before entering the turnstile.
Don't miss the latest attraction - the Big Tent, which was conceived by the RNC brain trust, Kenny 'No comment on being gay' Mehlman and Jo Ann 'Abortion, yes!' Davidson.

John DePetro of WRKO 680AM was on a fierce rant this morning about this issue.

A republican majority, no matter how they vote, gives them chairmanship of the various comittees. Chafee is no doubt a flagrant RINO, but the (R) by his name is very important. If he loses the primary a DIM may well win that office.

Very disappointing. Laffey told Chafee you do not represent us, the people sending you to Washington. Do not know where they are coming from anymore. Just the lesser of 2 evils.

You are wrong on one fact: Chafee did not vote in his own father's name, he wrote in the President's father, Bush 41.

Chafee did not write in his own father's name, he wrote in Bush 41.

They are totally clueless.

These are the same morons who helped keep Arlen Specter in his seat.

Any real Republican who votes for Lincoln Chaffee for ANYTHING is a total moron. This is a creature who more than once stated he was going to bolt the party and regularly votes like a Demcrat. His voting record is more liberal than some Demcrats.

The ULTIMATE payback would for him to pull a Jeffords - use Republican bucks to get relected and then do just that.

The RNC who is responsible for this outrage deserves no less.

We have a friend who saw him in the grocery store and said right to him..

"Why dont you stand with the President?"

He said he'd take it into consideration and went on reading a jar of spaghetti sauce.

He's an arrogant BOOB.

Thanks for pointing out that fact.

I to stop my funding to the GOP leadership, I now think local office holders are important also.
We, the Republican Party are in a catch twenty two in this election, it's like choosing the less of two evils with all the RINOS in office
However the situation, I would never vote for a low life Democrat or an Independent.
If you vote an Independent you are voting for a low life bottom feeding liberal.

I have no use for Chafee and don't care if he wins in the general or not.

That said, I am glad that Chuckie Schumer is now going to have to spend a lot of DSCC cash to prop up Whitehouse, thus draining his limited resources elsewhere.

2 reasons chaffee won:
1) RI is the most Democrat state in the union
2) Independents voted as well as republicans - not a true primary but an "open" primary.

Which means that Chaffee owes the RNC big time.

Didnt think he would win over Laffey by such a wide margin.
Guess all that RNC funneled money really worked for him.
He still has to beat Sheldon Whitehouse but they are the same animal so it doesnt matter too much.

Kenny 'No comment on being gay' Mehlman

I'm no fan of the RNC, but isn't that the response we really want from elected officials? Keep their private lives private, rather than parading them about?

This is reason #1 why I will never vote for Jeb Bush for president. As fine as G.W. Bush has been on some issues, he's been a disaster when it comes to advancing Reagan-style conservatism.
