Whichever way you look at it, the prospect of Pelosi being third in line to the Presidency is nothing to cheer about.

Why is she the demonrat pick for speaker?
Surely there must be somebody less vile on that side of the aisle, even today.

(Think about it .. A Speaker Nancy Pelosi could be 2 seats away from being President)

Why is she the demonrat pick for speaker? Because Dems wanted to lay claim of having the first female Minority or Marjory Leader
She is a puppet for Rahm Emanuel

Her unabating abrasiveness once led her friend Rep. Barney Frank (D.-Mass.) to admit to the New York Times, Her speaking style is not good. How radical do you have to be when even Barney Frank thinks you're too crazy?

The problem is not the ( SHEEPLED or brain dead ) people voting for her, it's the fair weather Republicans who are going to sit it out this November because of their hissy fits with the current Republican in Congress, or their hissy fits with President Bush.
If Pelosi becomes speaker of the house and 3 rd in line to the Presidency, then, we have no one but the fair weather Republicans ( and those Republicans who think that a lose in 2006 means a win in 2008 are DELUSIONAL and drinking the MSM/DEMS coolaid ) to blame.
No matter how disappointed I am with the Republicans and their lack of leadership, the alternative is WORSE !!!
Wake up out of the stupor fair weather Republicans !!!!

Downside to her elevation as Speaker is that the House would be a ghastly mess for 2 years, bogged down in endless moonbat conspiracy-theory investigations and little gets accomplished (they won't be able to pass much in the way of legislation, as it wouldn't get past the Senate, let alone the President), and also, of course, the threat they present to national security.
However, there is an upside to it. Since Pelosi will feel that the election of a 'Rat majority gives them carte-blanche to do anything and everything hard-left and anti-Bush, the backlash of the public (anything but hard-left) will be enormous, guaranteeing that not only will a Republican be elected President in 2008, but also there will be substantial gains in the House and Senate to deprive the 'Rats of their short-lived majority.
Frankly, the American people may need to get a little taste of what it would truly be like to have these cretins running the country to ensure the GOP has control for the next 30 years.

She is not necessarily. She makes a lot of noise but she is standing on very soft ground. There are plenty of DemocRATS in the House who prefer others as speaker, e.g. Hoyer (MD)

Maybe, but do you want speaker Pelosi in the next 2 years when we may have to take serious action in Iran, and we may get the critical Supreme Court nomination? THere is too much to loose in the next 2 years to have Pelosi speaker, regardless of any potential benefits.
