I admire and respect conservatives that are concerned about real conservative issues but am afraid they are gulping at bait cast on the water. Remember a person tells you what they want you to hear to get what they really want to get

Can Freepers be horrified at the fact that Governor Perry signed the biggest tax increase in history (that includes a stealth income tax)? May we use Governor Perry's public policy position as a basis for deciding which candidate to vote for?

Being from a border state myself I can see that the reason a lot of conservatives may vote for Kinky is because of his promise to put 8500 more national guard troops on the border and come down on employers of illegals. That may tip the race in his favor because illegal immigration is #1 priority in all the border states for most voters.

It sounds like Perry has the same ineffectiveness with regard to the illegal immigration mess as dubya has.

To many Texans the boarder issue is ALL that matters. All other issues are on a back burner.

And not a peep from Perry on the border issue during all his years in office.... until it comes time to stump for the election.

I'm still undecided. Whatever else you can say about Kinky, his saving grace is that he's NOT a professional politician.

Perhaps, perhaps not.

One thing we do know is that Perry has said he will do nothing about it. He said it in as many words. Its on WMV file. So what are we to do as voters. Nothing???

Some would suggest that the Repub establishment needs to be burned down to the ground and have a true conservative movement rise from the ashes. I just might have to agree with them. I just hope the liberals haven't destroyed our country during the proccess.
