Remember when some of the schools had metal tubes attached to the 2nd floor to slide down in? If you didn't have long pants on, and didn't keep your arms folded, you arrived on the the ground like a peeled potato.

I don't remember the sliding poles. I was going to school in Phoenix,Arizona at the time and all the buildings were single story with no basements. The classrooms each had their own front and back doors that led directly outside.
