He totally gets it with the threat, but totally blows it with the prescription: open borders, gun control, national ID, security checks, etc.( See: "Police State").

Had he stood with keeping terrorists out of the country, or informing the 80 million of us who own guns who the known terrorists were and advocating citizens arrest, I'd be right with him.

Do you subscribe to Lexis-Nexis? It would be interesting to cross-reference the remarks of "America's mayor" in this opinion column with previous public pronouncements he has made.
Example: Pre-9-11, had "America's mayor" ever mentioned that terrorism really began in the 1960s? (I'm sure that you understand the point I'm making, Liz)

After 9/11, in January 2002, Guiliani, was hard at work starting up his company---Giuliani Partners---focusing primarily on security. He brought a number of his aides from the Mayor's office with him including disgraced policeman Bernie Kerik (Mayor Rudy's former driver) who headed the security sector.

Then in January 2003, Giuliani was in Mexico City, where Mexican business leaders put up a reported $4.2 million for advice from Rudy's firm on policing and cutting crime. Rudy's Mexican effort later received decidedly mixed reviews.

Rudy then switched his focus to investment banking.
