I agree! If he was so wonderful, why would President Bush let him go? President Bush surrounds himself with competent, intelligent men and women. I just don't understand why the writer of the film would portray Clarke as such a star, because after 9/11 he was one of the ones who was constantly causing problems and hindering the administration. It would be interesting to see the script.
It was SO obvious, even if you had no idea that Clarke was a troublemaker to this administration (most likely because of sour grapes because the VERY competant Condi Rice demoted him).
It might interest you to know that Clark is now a consultant and employee of ABC.
