Patricia Heaton, who played the ambassador, was completely cut. If i'm not mistaken, her character wasn't shown either night.

You obviously dozed off for a couple of minutes -- her scene lasted about that long. She berated O'Neil's staff, told them everything that happened in Yemen had to go through her, told O'Neil that she had worked hard to nurture a democracy there and didn't want him messing it up, "You came with more people than I was expecting", etc, etc.

Heaton really played that ambassador witch Bodine perfectly. Then she went to Baghdad as some kind of deputy before she went back to State. A real Republican but miscast in her career choices imo. She is one of those women who do not know how to handle power.
