Close the G*****mn borders.

Here's what I don't get...

ABC shows a followup on how easy it is to buy fertilizer..but 9/11 didn't require AN fertilizer bombs.
All of the terrorists came into the country through airports, not walking across the unguarded areas of New Mexico border.
The explosives brought in for the Millenium bomb came through a checkpoint at a Canadian border, not through the Saskatchewan wilderness.
The 9/11 hijackers used box-cutters that were legal on the plane at that time, not gizmo 9mm ceramic cell-phone zip-guns.

So, it's fine to argue that border fences for keeping out mexican illegals that sap our emergency rooms, but it seems as ridiculous to assume that will do anything against terrorists as it is that they will use clunky McVeigh type AN bombs instead of Anthrax or .223's in an Impala shooting spree.

I guess Superman Dick Clarke could better splain this to me, but looks like the basic MO of AQ is to simply use whatever is legal and available at the time against us in a way we don't expect.

The imagery the producers made that struck me was the recurring scenes in the movie are where the viewer sees the terrorist walking right past the vigilant Customs agent, police officer, or security guard......not sneaking across the desert.

If we close the G*****mn borders and I'm a terrorist, why not just come in on a real or fake tourist visa again?

Let met help you here. The MSM believes maybe hopes some GOP voters to whom immigration is an important issue may be able to be peeled off by the Dims this November. Thus the focus on terrorist tatics, walking across the border, using fertilizer, etc., that they hope might be used to hurt the GOP this Novemember.

When I say close the border, that means all ports of entry. Legal can come in when they are legal. An airport from the middle east arrives at a port of entry. So does a cargo ship. So do illegal aliens from Canada and Mexico. They all need to be addressed. I do not think a 3000 mile southern border is necessary.....just fence the high volume choke points and surveil the wilderness areas. We need to control penetration of bad guys into this country. Scrutiny of who comes into the USA is essential. In the film one of the second tier security guards exercised his initiative and denied one of the attackers entry. If he denied someone who was only a tourist, that is the perogative we have in this country....just like most other countries.

If we controlled the borders it would allow assets to be freedup for other functions.

One thing I feel sure of is nothing that I say or opine has not already been strongly considered by security personell in this country. We are safer than prior to 9-11.

Because unlike pre9/11 we now keep track of exits not just entrances at the border.

We also now photograph and digital fingerprint.

All can be mass cross indext with face recognition and lists.

The idea is to seal all the leaks to a single point we can actually monitor.
