No, it isn't. I don't go on dates to engage in some form of emotional and/or intellectual combat with someone. I get enough of that at work.

Erm, so, you like you dates to be non-conversational drinking binges and/or 'orgies' ? While that was a blast when I was in college, a meaningful relationship is achieved through intellectual challenge and compatibility on that level.

A relationship is not about challenging each other. It's about facing common challenges together. And by being together, the couple is greater than each person separately. I would never want to be in a relationship centered around competing with my spouse. If you want challenges with your partner, eventually one or the other will get sick of it and walk.
