I think one of the reasons a lot of guys my age have trouble with this is they don't understand the full meaning of submission to God's sovereign will. It's not like God is here to boss you around and be petty, venal, and mean. A true man's submission to God is much akin to a vassal offering his sword to his liege lord. It's so much more than just one is in charge and the other is subservient. A vassal is tasked to submit to his lord's will, but a lord stands behind his vassal and our God definitely stands behind us.

Well said. Have you read the book "Discovering the Mind of a Woman?" If not, you have almost nailed the point of the book. It's a great read for any guy trying to improve his marriage and love his wife more.

No, I haven't, but then again, I'm not married. For that matter, I don't really date that much (frankly, too chicken to ask a girl. Doesn't make sense considering I've had more than one relatively dangerous hobby in my days, but there it is).

Still, sounds like a good read. I might check it out.
