His Senate term will be up in 08. In Nebraska, he can't run for POTUS and the Senate at the same time. He will have to make the choice. Now, you and I know that he will never get the GOP nomination, if we wanted to go his route we would send McCain who polls say would beat Hellary -- so -- HAGEL FOR PRESIDENT (until the primaries are over)

That's so disappointing that so many Americans wanted to see football and couldn't take a couple hours to watch the movie about 9-11. Sad. And I love football but 9-11 is reality. Probly all the Democrats watched the football game because they didn't want to see the things about Clinton's years that they know are true, but don't want to see it.

I read somewhere else that tonight is supposed to be more critical of President Bush- not sure if that is true or not. I don't know what there is to be that critical of, he was only in office for 7 1/2 months.

I don't think angcat (or I) intended any slight toward Massoud--we were just saying we thought the actor who played him was cute.

Even from what I could glean from the film, he sounded like quite an accomplished man. Had the Clinton administration not pulled back on the assassination of Bin Laden, it is highly likely that Massoud would be alive today leading Afghanistan.

Basically, Rush is saying OBL not taken out because of rules against assassination of "heads of state" - against the law. I wouldn't think that rule would apply to OBL, lol. Pitiful excuse.

Yesterday I had a link to WND about Patterson, but can't find it now.
Anyway the gist of it was that when WND(worldnetdaily)interviewed him he told them;
he recognized the t.v. production conflated several events,but,"in terms of conveying how the Clinton adm. handled it's opportunities to get ben Laden,it's 100% factually correct."

He was an extraordinary man. He was murdered by suicide bombers dispatched by UBL on September 9, 2001. He was known as the Lion of Panjir, and was a good friend of the United States. A man of great courage who hated bin Laden with his whole being. He worked closely with our CIA on the ground in Afghanistan, in the early efforts to get bin Laden when Clinton was president.

There was also the documentary made by the french brothers (I forget their name) about a NYC firehouse on 9/11 on CBS. Added together the ratings for the documentary and "The Path to 9/11" they beat the football game.
