One thing that's overlooked that I think may have had an effect:
An ABC journalist has a starring hero role.

We have been discussing that, here at home.
Why was this journo able to get the OBL interview and the CIA couldn't find him? That was actually a line of dialog last night. Why was a journalist being kept in the loop by CIA? Why, because our intel and security services wouldn't soil their hands by paying a small maintenance fee to their one informer.
I believe there is going to be a book, as well as the DVD put out to recoup this $40M spent on this. Miller is the real protagonist of this movie. Perhaps this is an attempt to rehabilitate the image of journalism in America today?
Besides putting the blame on the Clinton Administration's cowardly idiots, so far, this miniseries shows that the AQ perpetrated the attack, contrary to the moonbats' allegations to the contrary. "Convert to Islam or die" was emphasized, as well.
Despite whatever edits were made, it is inescapable, after watching, to conclude that Berger, Clarke, Tenet and Albright were so caught up in their "law and order" and "diplomacy" mindsets that they totally failed America.
The actress who played Madge was superb. She even got the set of the mouth and the tone of the voice down pat. Like chalk on a blackboard, to me. I wanted to hit her.
