I just heard an EUwwwww sponsored ad on local radio here in Clare this morn. The ad was about CAP (Common agricultural policy) in which a guy opposed to CAP was portrayed as total idiot and the guy in favour of CAP was a virtue of common sense saying CAP brought jobs, helped the environment and cheap food! Typical in your face euro-propaganda if ever I heard it. Now, I live in the country surrounded by farmers and they do not give a fiddlers about the environment and God help us all if there is a major world shock that disrupts food supply and we have to rely on EU lobotomized and subsidized farmers to do some real work like grow crops! Eu induced inefficiency could cause another famine?
One another point - looks like it's rained off at the K-Club. All the years of hard work ruined by the weather (but imagine what the event would be like if subsidized by the euro-weenies)
Ummm I am not saying that the Irsih don't play a role in their success.

It's not like we were at war - there's 2 winners - Ireland and the EU. Maybe that's confusing because winning in the USA always meens somebody has to loose.
We did this - not the EU or the Irish alone. The irish longed for a chance and were not lazy and very bold and such... and the EU simply wanted to become a more sturdy community by uniting the interests of more promising states to overcome threats like the Dollar infaltion or the exploding chineese market - and gave money (as an invest in our european future that is)
In the end we noticed even that we need more european forces... (a bit late though)
So we both won.

It's already partly responsible for famine in other parts of the world - think of how the food mountains and the quotas prevented a surplus of cheap food getting to the Third World!
