He ordered tanks against an American church, killings scores of Branch Davidians in Waco in 1993.
He avoided his responsibility on this one too. Attorney General Janet Reno claimed she gave the order and was responsible.

as the late President Teddy Roosevelt "the buck stops here"
I think you'll find that was Harry Truman who held that notion. He had a sign on his desk with that legend.

So far it seems to me that Clarke is being treated rather kindly.....

If case you don't know, Rush Limbaugh got an advance copy from anonymous sources and says Clarke comes off very well in the whole thing.

What's interesting to me is that they already had these changes in the can. Does anybody really think that ABC called Keitel back in this week to make the scene changes?

which would skip right over the Cole by 11 months.I thought the same thing about the Cole. Maybe they do show it tonight or maybe it's one of those things that really didn't happen. ;)

Hey, I'm just happy ABC had the guts to make a halfway-decent documentary about 9/11 at all!
I didn't even have ABC on my programmed channels. You'd flip right past it and not even know it was there. It's on the rotation, now.

According to WHO? To me, they look like a joke.
They've got less power than before they became President. They can't survive another 'mysterious death' in their camp. They drained the party of funds, and left it wide open to Soros and his ilk. They stripped the Congress of democRat power. And the former co-president is getting jeered by her own party because she's too far right.

It was obvious that they chopped some scenes because it wound up 15 minutes shorter than advertised, but the production was still compelling and totally believable. I especially liked the fact that Patricia, the FBI agent, came off as the heroine, and Maddy, the maid/Sec. of State, looked like the incompetent she was. Also enjoyed the statement aboout not wanting to get caught holding the bag if they attacked Bin Laden "like Reno did in Waco." That's why billy Jeff had his affirmative action women appointees, so they would take the blame for his blunders, and they always did.

Bump. There was a time the left didn't believe in censureship.

Re #4, of course you are right. The Northern Alliance commander asked if we had any "men" left in Washington. This is the question from our allies, and also gives heart to our enemies who belive our leaders lack the guts to defend our way of life.
To: NormsRevenge
That differs from a note in the critics' version that said the dramatization "is based on the 9/11 commission report and other published sources and personal interviews I thought I saw this statement in the roll of the opening, not the disclaimer. In fact it was followed by a credit given to the the book, "The Cell."

Y'know Peach, I am not sure that's true, the left not wanting censorship. I think they were always down with it so long as their ox was not Gored. So to speak. The ACLU seems only to have protected certain speech, oh, and Porn. So long as you hated the Catholic Church for instance, that was cool. V's wife.

The character who made the comment was the Afghani (Pakistani?) standing next to Wahlberg. LOL! I noticed the same thing myself. When I read the AP report this morning I figured that maybe my memory was faulty because I was a bit tired last night. Now it turns out I was right and the AP was WRONG. Will Drudge highlight this GLARING AP error?

The character playing Albright looked better than the real life Albright but she portrayed her as having a snooty, know-it-all attitude.

I am with you on that. It would seem reasonable that the Clinton administration had a lot of distractions it was defending itself against. Distractions that didn't need to be happening if he had only behaved himself in office.
But, if those scenes had shown him as distracted and republicans as being petty about Clintons' behavior, while such huge threats loomed on the horizon...we could have ended up looking real bad.
It is true though that a fish stinks from the head. It seemed to me many key items were not covered in the film. Items that would have fleshed out the overall government feelings and foreign policy. Somalia, USS Cole, Bosnia, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Khobar Towers, among a few others. To think these same people would not have Oklahoma City show up on their radar as a 'distraction' from AQ too.

IMO, that was dumb of Clinton to omit that part. I can see viewers slapping their foreheads "oh yeah, those damn Republicans and the Impeachment... it their fault Clinton was distracted." LOL!
