If you followed the treads, why didn't you watch it? LOL.
I was out today, just came back a little while ago.

I thought it was really good, although it concerns me that they devoted three hours to eight years of the Clinton Adminstration, while two hours will be devoted to eight months of the Bush Administration.

I was disappointed that they edited the Sandy Berger scene, but again, it still showed the ineptitude/negligence of the former administration.
No wonder they howled. I understand DU was having a fit during the showing.

If you followed the treads, why didn't you watch it? LOL. My desk isn't in the same room as my television, so it's easier to read mail and pay bills while posting on FR than while watching TV. LOL.

What a great idea to have the edited parts running in the net, LOL! In other words, the Democrats gave free publicity to this, and now most people will be able to see it.

Buy a little TV and put it by your desk. ;-)

I probably would have watched 9/11 (again) on CBS if there hadn't been such an uproar over this.
ABC got free advertising and tons of viewers, courtesy of Clinton and Co.

I know that's what you do, isn't it?
I don't need any distractions here in my "office." And I've got so much computer stuff in here, if I plug in a television I'll probably cause a massive power failure. LOL.

I swear, Clinton doesn't really even know who BL was! Sounds like he's faking it.

Yeah, I guess we can't expect total fairness, but as long as the facts in general get out, it will help. A lot of people don't know that these terrorists existed during the Clinton era. They didn't just surface in 2001. They were bombing us long before that the 93 WTC bombing is just one case.

That's what makes me so mad:
1993 -- WTC bombed
1995 -- bombing in Saudia Arabia; 5 servicemen killed.
1996 -- Khobar Towers bombing; 19 servicemen killed, 200 injured.
1998 -- bombing of Kenya and Tanzania embassies; 224 killed, 5,000 injured.
2000 - USS Cole bombed; 17 sailors killed, 39 injured.
9/11 didn't just come out of nowhere.

Absolutely. You got that right, Scott.
To: scott7278
Make that 1995 Saudi bombing 1 serviceman, 4 American civilians killed.

Did you see any of these events in the docudrama, or have they omitted most of them? So far I've seen the 93 WTC bombing.

To: scott7278
While we may not like to admit it, the truth is that the Bush administration should get some well-deserved criticism for the pre-9/11 period. The basic problem with this administration before 9/11 was that it was filled with people who probably had no idea what kind of threat al-Qaeda represented to this country. Condoleeza Rice, for example, was appointed National Security Advisor because of her expertise in Soviet/Russian issues. Donald Rumsfeld was appointed Secretary of Defense because one of the administration's key objectives was to streamline the Department of Defense (and as an independently wealthy man in his 70s with no political aspirations, he was in a perfect position to shut down pet pork-barrel defense appropriations without any fear of backlash from members of Congress).
And let's face it . . . the Pentagon was littered with incompetent and borderline-incompetent political hacks who had no expertise in radical Islam and whose only "qualification" for their positions was that they were ardent advocates of using the U.S. military to topple the Ba'athist government in Iraq. If your were to do an internet search on terms like "Paul Wolfowitz + al-Qaeda" or "Richard Perle + al-Qaeda," you'd probably be shocked at the lack of any sources of information before 9/11/2001 that would indicate they had any clue what al-Qaeda was.
