I'd like to solicit opinions for the following.
Last night's show contained the following scene:
2 Americans, alongside Massoud and dozens of Northern Alliance, were purportedly ready to raid bin Laden's camp and kill or capture him. US authorities, however, would not authorize it.
This makes little sense. There were no US assets needed (no cruise missiles or bombs - just 2 men on the ground). Massoud could simply have said "OK guys, we'll do it without you 2, see you later". Why would Massoud need US authorization? - he was already at war with bin laden.
Massoud would have had to be a sniper and a very gifted one at that, for one thing.
