I think one reason Liberals fall so easily for moonbat conspiracy theories is because they have such confidence that the Government can do whatever it wants. Therefore, if 9/11 happened, and the Government did nothing to prevent it, it means that either the Government was involved in the implementation or purposely stood aside to let it happen. The notion that the Government was doing it's best, but the Government's best is just not very damn good, is unthinkable to them.

The longer we remain "safe", the more the left will demand an end to the war, an end to profiling and intelligence gathering, an end to "scaremongering".
And just as surely, the day we are attacked again, the left will scream that Bush didn't do enough to keep us safe.
