Hagel is up for reelection in '08. There must be some good candidates to challenge him from within the party. How about Tom Osborne? Or is he damaged goods since he lost the primary for governor? Of course Hagel, being so full of himself, might just bow out of a Senate race and run for president instead!

One can only hope. 'Twould be a very good riddance!

And while we're on the subject, what gives with Nebraska?

From my outsider's perspective, it appears that the state's Dems like Exon and Nelson are sometimes more conservative than a Pubster like Hagel.

(Maybe the cornhusks out there carry some wierd toxins?)
