David L. Cunningham - Pray For Rain Pictures, Inc. - Director and Producer


Mr. Cunningham is an international filmmaker who has directed and produced a number of motion picture and television projects in 40 countries worldwide.

He is the founder and President of the Los Angeles-bases production company Pray for Rain Pictures Inc. Some of his former clients include Japanese NHK Television, The Family Channel, ABC, CNN, Discovery Channel, Disney, Sony Pictures, and CBS.

Two of Mr. Cunningham's most recent projects are "The Dream Center: Hope for the Inner City", a nationally broadcast documentary hosted by Academy Award nominee Edward James Olmos, and "Beyond Paradise", an award-winning movie which gained critical and financial recognition as an independent production.

Born in Switzerland and raised on the Big Island of Hawaii, Mr. Cunningham has traveled to 133 countries on every continent, earning him a membership in the prestigious Traveler's Century Club, whose members have been to more than 100 nations.

Mr. Cunningham has lectured at UCLA Extension, AFI Film Festival, Hawaii International Film Festival, Avid Technologies, and University of the Nations (Hawaii, South Africa, Switzerland and New Zealand campuses). At age 29, Mr. Cunningham presently lives in Los Angeles with his wife Judith.

Among his most recent writing and producing credits are "The Path to 9/11" (2006 Docudrama), a 6-hour miniseries to be shown September 10 and 11, 2006, on ABC, and "Into the West" (2005), a TV miniseries. Other credits include the Paramount/Showtime production The Day Reagan Was Shot (2001); Showtime's 10,000 Black Men Named George (2002); "the independent 1996 Sundance hit, The Interview, "Nikita" (1997) (which was "the pilot for the hit USA Network series, La Femme Nikita), and the adaptation of Alan Dershowitz's novel, The Advocate's Devil (1997) (TV) for ABC."
