"Jill is a consummate happy-go-lucky person," her father-in-law said. "She doesn't see any kind of evil in the world. She's a wonderful, innocent person, and she would never think anyone would try and harm her."
Hmm, is it how the U.S. Air Force officers should be?
Come 'on....it's the Air Force....she's not a Marine Officer...snicker.....
Really, I'm surprised they didn't find her on the local golf course.....LOL
Actually, my daughter is in the Air Force and at home she's still my sweet little girl, but when she put's on her uniform....look out...so if a reporter asked me about her and took the statement out of context, well, I can understand the Father-in-Law's answer....
" Hmm, is it how the U.S. Air Force officers should be?'
Listen, I got well acquainted with a Navy aeronautical engineering officer. In her words, "Yes, I really am a rocket scientist." She also got, post-service, sucked into a nutball Christianist group and had as much common sense as a ten-year old. It not only happens, but happens all the time.
You don't suppose he was speaking as a father about his daughter that he has known all her life? I doubt he really thinks of her as a military officer. I doubt he really knows that side of her.
I know a former Marine drill instructor pretty well, but I doubt my description of him would equate with the description of his personality that many Marines that know him would give.
