The 9-11 attack would never have happened if Americans had not been conditioned over the years to act like submissive sheep when facing an armed thug. It wasn't just the policy of complicity during airline hijackings, it was the notion that "it just isn't worth it" to resist the armed robberies or violent intimidation. But the truth is, it is worth it. If every victim were to fight back, crime would virtually disappear. We outnumber them and we win in a war of attrition. And they know that so soon they will not even try.
Think about that the next time you hear some police chief telling you it "isn't worth" standing up to thugs.

I agree. Most thieves are in it for the easy money. If we make it not so easy, they will find other work. Maybe even honest work, if it becomes apparent that is the only way to keep breathing...
