KABUL, Afghanistan (CNN) -- The one-eyed Taliban leader Mullah Omar, who heads the religious militia fighting U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan, is living in Pakistan, though not in the same area where al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden is thought to be, according to a U.S. intelligence source.

The elusive Taliban leader is believed to be in Quetta or its environs, a city of one million that is the capital of Baluchistan province in southwestern Pakistan.

The intelligence source said of Mullah Omar's location: "At one point we had it down to a particular section of Quetta."

I'm not sure that I can comment after reading that. I think I need a grant or something...

Certainly not since OBL is buried under tons of rubble in Afghanistan. IMHO

That is an interesting theory. I have often wondered if the US government would even announce Usama's death for various intelligence and security reasons.

Omar was considered an absolute fool...even by his own inner circle. Remember how they saw this guy leaving Afghanistan? A suitcase of money, tied onto the back of a scooter...driving out of the village. No truck, no guards, nothing. His episode wearing the sacred robe...if you do the research...is considered one of the most amusing episodes of the entire Taliban existence in Afghanistan. Somebody ought to do a 2-hour movie on the guy...I'd let Eddie Murphy play him...it'd be a riot.

Really, if OBL wanted to rally his troops wouldn't the best way to do that be to make a video with a copy of the daily New York Times in front of him? Unless, of course, there is too much rubble over him.

I don't think he wants his new appearance known to the outside world.
