no barf alert? I guess that, nauseating though this beuro-caca de torro is, it should be seriously looked at as finally a "plan" the Rats came up with to swarm the house and senate. of course it's a bureaucratic nightmare, the likes of which may be displayed on the hyped upcoming ABC docu-flick. Smells to me like a plain ole Rat end run at the Pubs for congress. Rumsfeld needs to make a vicious public speech about the corrupt motives of the unpatriotic libs who would come up with such a ludicrous idea, and point out that any sold out Generals who criticized his view probably had lucrative consulting deals with defense contractors who's expensive CRAP Rummy won't buy.

Re #21
Coming of election season stimulates Rat's imagination to come up with cheap tricks.

It is nothing but a election year ploy by the Democrats to once again " SHEEPLE the people " in effect to deceive the American people that is fact, that the Democrats are REALLY the one's who are more effective and dogmatic on the WOT and finding OSBL.... I sure hope the American " SHEEPLED " are not this stupid and fall for this trick.
I hope OSBL get captured in the next few weeks, so the Democrats won't get credit, and spending $ 200 MILLION ( have you ever heard of such a thing as this ? 200 MILLION ).

It would have more meaning if they gave the US armed forces free reign and backing to go wherever he may be. Invade Pakistan? OK.

OBL is bait. During his trial his face will be all over the global media for at least six months.
Jihadis will slink out of every snakepit to rescue him or kill the Great Satan. If they have access to nukes (NK), they will use them.

"Then when I read it, this jumped out at me..."...would also require the US Defense Department to report to Congress every three months about progress made toward apprehending bin Laden..."
Have you ever heard something so damned beauracratic and stupid?"
Especially when the Rats are going to leak everything not stated in open session to the media, which in turn gives tactical information to bin Laden and al-Qaeda. Once again, what they are doing is politicizing this war and Sept. 11.

"and spending $ 200 MILLION ( have you ever heard of such a thing as this ? 200 MILLION )."
Can you imagine how this plays out in the ME? The propaganda value this has for bin Laden?
To: TigerLikesRooster
So how do they know that $200 million will do it? What if it's too little? What if they can do it for $20 million? This is nonsense, a cheap political ploy. One would think from this that the U.S. intelligence community wasn't looking for bin Ladin at all due to lack of funds. Republicans and Democrats both will jump on this boondogle just so they can go home and wave it around for the voters.
To: Prophet in the wilderness
Actually, it would be great to have him captured right before the fall election, just to see the sputtering, spittle-lipped democratic dunderheads explode in outrage over the obvious Rovian ploy...:)
Just for the sheer entertainment value of it all.

Why does the Senate always go overboard with their spending? That's easy, it's not their money,

Although this is a Dim ploy to look tough on terror, I have no problem with it.
If we catch him, it's worth the $200 million.
OTOH, it may be that the Dims on the intel committees have inside info that we're close to catching him and so they're doing this now so they can take credit when he's caught.
The Dims: always pure evil.

"The Senate agrees that it is chief among our priorities in the war on terror to bring the mastermind behind September 11 to the justice that a mass murderer deserves," he said.
I agree, with the understanding that the justice he deserves is a quick and violent death, NOT a circus trial in New York City with Ramsey Clark as his attorney, and hordes of adoring reporters portraying him as a "freedom fighter".
