When you have a loved in crisis situation, you need to understand what is going on. The nurses are best asset. Research is vital.
An MD behind the name is just two letters. I have heard crap from MD's that - had I followed my natural impulse would have ended me up in jail; when some snot nosed kid with an MD asked about a DNR on my FIL.
I will never forget it.
My FIL is blind and experiencing dementia. He had a health incident and we took him to the ER. The attending asked us about a DNR (never checking that we had explicit instruction on file.)
This dumass informed us. "Well, he doesn't have much of a life."
Yes, the only reason I did not get locked up that night, is for the sake of my wife, who had all she could deal with. BTW, that was 5 years ago. And the old man still has much of a life.
Wait till you hear about some of the bozos I've seen on the internet :~)
Carry on :~)
Wow, that doc was an a$$. I'm at a lose for words. He's lucky he still has his teeth.
