Do you really think someone would actually drive a bottle of blood to a person who is in desperate need of some? But we would most assuredly drive to Memphis if need be.

Do you really think someone would actually drive a bottle of blood to a person who is in desperate need of some? That particularly bad self-help advice was in post 27: "put it in the cooler chest with lots of ice ... and drive it back to Memphis".
No hospital with competent risk management would transfuse blood of unknown origin that had just taken a 500 or so mile car ride.
