I find the speculation, without a shred of evidence, that she ran off to be offensive. I have a higher opinion of our women in uniform.
I don't know if the facts of the case will ever be disclosed but, from what little information has been released, I suspect that she has been kidnapped and assaulted.
American women are accustomed to moving freely wherever they wish to go. Expecting to have that same sort of freedom in other parts of the world, especially in Muslim countries, is dangerous.

Having been kidnapped and assaulted is a possibility; at this point the Pentagon is not saying that.
Your other point suggests she's scatterbrained. This is an officer in a dangerous country. She should know enough to be aware of her surroundings and situation. She's been in country for months. That mean to me either she was forcibly kidnapped or she was AWOL.
