WASHINGTON, Sept. 8, 2006 Air Force Maj. Jill Metzger, who vanished Monday in Kyrgyzstan, has been found and now is back in Air Force control, ABC News has learned.
"We are elated to have Jill back with us," said Air Force spokesman Col. Scott Reese. Local police notified U.S. officials that she had been found at 1:15 a.m. local time in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
Air Force officials say she was found alone and appears to have been beaten. Officials say she is "coherent," in "relatively good condition" and is talking to investigators. She is also undergoing medical evaluation.
Officials would not comment on the circumstances surrounding her disappearance and said the investigation is ongoing
The news brought elation to Metzger's family.
"It's a dream come true. The most significant event of our lives," said Kelly Mayo, Metzger's father-in-law. Mayo said he has not spoken to Metzger yet, but believes she had been kidnapped and "whoever had her dropped her off on the side of the road."
Metzger vanished on Monday afternoon in Kyrgyzstan a poor, predominantly Muslim country in Central Asia. Since shortly after the Sept. 11 attacks, Kyrgyzstan has been home to a strategically important U.S. military base that supports operations in Afghanistan. The government is generally pro-American, and in recent years has experienced sporadic clashes with Islamic fundamentalists.
Just 10 days before deploying to Kyrgyzstan in April, Metzger married Air Force Capt. Josh Mayo. They had already bought tickets for a honeymoon in Jamaica later this month, he said.
"We were going to take Jet Skis out, have a couple of romantic dinners. It is very disappointing," said Mayo
Before her disappearance, Metzger was last seen out shopping with five others from the base. The group briefly separated inside a department store in the center of Bishkek, several miles from the base. They had agreed to meet a short time later, but Metzger never showed up.
""The release also says that calls were made *to* her phone, and the location of the phone was near the bus station. Possible translation problems, but she could very well have been forced to make calls."
I meant the release you are quoting here, it is a source I can't find, but it would conflict with the New York Times article I quoted.
I found the one about the phone calls, it is from the first news of last thursday, in later stories they only mention the outgoing calls.
"Sutalinov said that other witnesses had reported seeing Metzger talking on a public phone at the bus station, according to local news reports.
The ministry has said that cellphone records showed that Metzger made calls to a former Soviet farm in the afternoon, before disappearing, and that her phone was called twice in the evening before being shut off.
At the time of one of the calls, the cellphone was located near the city's eastern bus station, the ministry has said.
The city police said they had also reviewed the phone records, but said their review showed that Metzger had called the bus station and a residential district in Bishkek.
It was not clear whether the two police agencies were discussing the same calls, and why their public statements differed. It also was not clear whom the major might have called. Carpenter said the major did not speak Russian, Kyrgyz or Uzbek, the predominant local languages."
I didn't say subordination I said protection.
When women aren't protected they are subordinated.
Only the Feminism's flight into fantasy world would think otherwise.
She is coming to the US soon we'll be learning what happened, in this story the facts are unchanged.

KAISERSLAUTERN, Germany Air Force Maj. Jill Metzger is expected to leave Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in the next couple of days to head to the United States, an Air Force spokeswoman said.
Metzger, who was kidnapped last week in Kyrgyzstan then escaped from her captors, was in good condition as of Tuesday afternoon at Landstuhl.
Shes doing good and is anxious to get back home, said Air Force Maj. Krista Carlos, a spokeswoman with U.S. Air Forces in Europe.
Metzgers husband, Air Force Capt. Joshua Mayo, arrived at Landstuhl on Monday to be reunited with his wife. Mayo and Metzger met in 2003 while stationed at Ramstein Air Base.
The 33-year-old major was flown Sunday via a C-17 from Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan to Ramstein Air Base, according to a USAFE news release. From Ramstein, she was transported to Landstuhl that afternoon for follow-up medical evaluations and debriefings by medical and survival specialists, the news release stated.
Unfortunately, the subordination of women has often been the result of some of this "protection." I'm sorry that you seem willing to dismiss its existence so readily and blame "feminism." I've met a few members of the American "Taliban" here who'd like to see women living in pre-1920 conditions. No thank you.
"I saw something on the MSM TV last night (?) that her story has changed so many times and is so preposterous that it stinks. She's also asked for counsel.
Remember. This is "TV" news, but it sure seems odd that the story has literally disappeared."
I'm writing this on Wednesday and the news black out is still on, not even a word about any military or police actions.
The rumors about an abortion are out there though.
Not sure, but it's the number that showed up on all the career "pyramid" figures at AFPC's site. All the regular "line" career fields, not including medical, nursing, JAG, etc. It's also average time to pin on major's leaves, not the average time to meet and be selected by the Major's promotion board. In general promotions are spread out through the year.
When I was promoted to Captain, in the reserves, they actually back dated my DOR to the day I was eligible, which was almost a year before the board met. I got the back pay too. :)

This (unnatural) behavior of humans seems to have spread to the apes.
"How did the chimpanzee cross the road?
14 September 2006
From New Scientist Print Edition.
Cautiously, it would seem. When it comes to crossing roads, chimps seem to have formulated their own version of a highway code. What's more, the time they spend pondering a strategy before crossing depends on how dangerous the road is.
When some monkeys and baboons cross risky terrain, adult males travel at the front of the group to reduce the risk of it being attacked by predators. This had never been recorded in great apes, but now Kimberly Hockings of the University of Stirling in the UK and her team have found that chimps display a similar behaviour when crossing roads that carve through the forests in which they live and forage.
She has found that adult males in the group of 12 chimps she studies in Bossou, Guinea, take up the front and rear position as the group crosses roads in single file, while more vulnerable females and juveniles occupy the less exposed centre of the group. During the 28 crossings she observed, the position of the alpha and other dominant males changed depending on the perceived risks. In some cases, adult males stood guard - lollipop-lady or crossing-guard style - waiting for the group of chimps to make it across (Current Biology, vol 16, p R668)."
And women today would reject such an offer, since they have been 'enlightened' by Feminism.
Ofcourse, Feminism goes hand in hand with evolution, which denies the fact that men and women were created directly by God and are different by nature.
Y'all just keep in mind that there're posters whose goal is saying provocative and embarrassing things. They do this to humiliate FR.

What about if you realize how easy it is to join FR? What if DUmmies join up just to pretend to be the embodiment of their caricature perception? Could you believe thats happening?
Ditto and well said.
Hmm, signed up today to post this?
Good post, thanks!
